Lancaster variety are most likely the only ones of gemstone quality. There
are deposits of a very pure Slate that the Chiastolite crystals were formed in,
that are concentrated in this area.
This rare form of Andalusite is the only crystal that bears this unusual
cruciform pattern inside.
